This website will provide students information about the PTA Program at Housatonic Community College. HCC is a member of the PTA Consortium in which 5 Connecticut Community Colleges participate with Naugatuck Valley Community College to provide the PTA major. Consortia member schools have students that take the PTA courses at Naugatuck Community College in Waterbury, Ct. Admission is competitive and HCC has developed this website to assist students to prepare for this program and provide as much information as possible.
Every document that is attached on a page in this website, there is a link at the bottom of the page which makes it easier to download and print.
It is Highly recommended that students meet with Kathleen Cercone PT, PhD (PTA Advisor and Coordinator of the PTA Program at HCC) early in their academic program at HCC as they work to apply for the PTA program. This mandatory advising can occur early in your academic career at HCC OR if must be done PRIOR to 10/15/14 for application to the PTA 2015 program.
Being advised by Dr. Cercone will ensure that the correct courses are being completed as you prepare to apply to the PTA program.
The Director of the PTA program, Kathleen Plunkett PT, welcomes interested students to visit the school to see the PTA program and classes. Read her Welcome from NVCC as the PTA Program Director
